Celebrity Big Brother's Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa put on spot over whether relationship is 'romantic' after her split

Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa were put on the spot during their first live TV interview since their Celebrity Big Brother exits as they were quizzed on their close relationship.

JoJo came third during the final on Friday night (April 25), while Chris left in sixth place after making it to the final. It was Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd went on to be crowned the champion of the 2025 series.

But, despite the series coming to an end, all eyes were still on JoJo and Chris as it emerged over the weekend the 21-year-old and her long-term partner Kath Ebbs ended their relationship at the Celebrity Big Brother after-party, according to the Australian actor.

The couple confirmed their relationship earlier this year, and former Dance Moms star JoJo referred to her non-binary partner Kath during her time in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

In an Instagram video shared on Saturday (April 26), hours after the show's wrap party, Neighbours star, presenter and DJ Ebbs said JoJo "asked to marry them before this social experiment".

They added they travelled to the UK, and went "to the live show to show up for my partner and support them in their experience”, and talk about their relationship.

"(I) went to the after party with my, I guess now, ex, crazy thing to say, and was dumped in the party," they said. Kath claimed JoJo told them “they had realised in the house that I wasn’t the person that they wanted to spend the foreseeable" future with.

It was then on Monday (April 28) that both Chris and JoJo appeared on This Morning where they were quizzed by Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley over their time on Celebrity Big Brother and the status of their own relationship.

When Ben Shephard suggested she split from her partner 'very quickly' at the wrap party, JoJo explained; "I'll be honest, that was not the plan, that was not the intention, that was not supposed to happen like that.

"Initially I was told the wrap party was something they didn't want to attend and then about an hour into the wrap party they decided they wanted to.

"So I was genuinely going to have a conversation before but then it just led to another. They straight up asked me if I was happy and I said 'no' and one thing led to another and that conversation did take place there."

The presenter went on to probe: "Was your relationship and what's going on between you two the catalyst in that? Because there's clearly a very tight bond..."

JoJo replied: "Obviously we're close, obviously we're tight..." Chris then continued: "Obviously our friendship is just a really strong bond between two people, which is just a strong friendship." JoJo commented: "It's beautiful," as Ben quizzed: "Platonic?" to which JoJo replied: "Yes."

Chris went on: "I think you can have a soulmate friendship. I think that's a thing and to me, that energy where it's not the standard friendship you have with your friends, but it's still a friendship. We are friends. It's just nice. I found it strange because it was such a strong friendship.

"But having someone in there to go through an experience like that and have someone there every day when you're emotional, when you're down, when you're happy, that was beautiful. That is genuinely an amazing thing and probably my favourite thing I got from the show."

Ben then asked again: "It's platonic right now but would you like it to be romantic, JoJo? He's a gorgeous boy..." JoJo replied: "He's a gorgeous boy, you're a gorgeous boy, you're a gorgeous girl...

"Look, he's a great guy, it is platonic. We have a lot of fun together but life is life and I don't know any future of anything but I'm really grateful for the dynamic that we have and our bond that we have. And whatever life does, it will do."
